F ro n d s glabrous, pinnate, the lowermost pinnæ b ip a rtite ,
n e a rly sessile, and opposite ; pinnæ deeply pinnatifid or p innate,
a ttenuated, and adnate towards the ap ex ; segments linear, falcate,
and d e cu rren t at the base, ra th e r obtuse, slightly crenulate,
and covered on the u n d e r side with minute white dots.
Veins forked or simple.
Stipes and costa p u rp lish when young, the former rough.
F ro n d s terminal, on an u p rig h t rhizoma.
Sori chiefly on the middle portions of the segments.
