Ipun May 23'd, and came out 21 ft June. One which fpun in autumn came out
13th o f April. Th e web, o f an oblong form, and having an inner cafe, is fulpended
to a leaf, an d looks like a dead lea f rolled up. I t is not common.
This is evidently very nearly related to P. Cecropia-, and, though fpecifically diftindt, ought
certainly to be placed next to it. Indeed the male and female flies of Promethea are fo different
in colour,- and the latter is fo like Cecropia, except in fize, that it is not eafy. to contrive
a definition which lhall include both fexes, and yet diftinguilh them from that fpecies.
