We think there can be no doubt of this being the very fame fpecies as we have in Europe,
which Linnaeus defcribed by the above name, and whofe caterpillar and chryfalis, exactly,
agreeing with thefe from America, are figured by Roefel, Vol. 4. t. 34. ƒ. 1—4; as is alfo the
perfedt fly in Vol. 3. t. 38. ƒ. 2, 3. of the fame excellent author. It feems not fo much at
home in America, being, according to Mr. Abbot, fo very rare.
