Long iron framework on four legs, one adjustable for height. At one
end is a mahogany block (with the Koenig stamp) with adjusting
screws, and an upper section that can be fixed to sit square on the block,
as in photograph, or fitted into one of three different slots at 45piThis
holds an iron clamp. At the other end of the framework is another iron
clamp with turnkey. Both are clamps for tuning forks. The fork fixed at
the second clamp is marked UT, 64VS. It has a counterpoise on one
arm, and a holder for a glass plate on the other. The smoked glass plate
in place is initialled RK and marked: N - 64VS 8N = :S72VS. Tuning
fork on first clamp is marked UT§i MI^ and has a spring wire scriber
at the end. The side of the fork is marked with positions for various frequencies,
from UT, to M, : 128 - 160 (ratios 1 to 1 and 4 to 5). Koenig
