Both boxes are made of mahogany and are lined in green baize. The
base' of the inner case is pierced to admit the key. The chronometer
movement is mounted in a brass casing, coated in amber lacquer, with
winding port in base. The key slots into a socket at the side of the inner
case. The glass cover over the face unscrews, and the movement lifts out.
There is no inscription on the movement. The drive is by fusee. The
face has the normal hour, minute, and second dials, and a semicircular
scale to count down from 56 to 0.
