CAULIS fruticosus, erectus, pedalis. Rami et
ramuli nirmerosi, erecto-patentes.
FOLIA terna, trigona, erassa, risrida, revoluta,
acuta, glabra, supra plana, subtus canaliculata :
margínibus minute fimbriatis.
FLORES ramulos terminant, plerumqne terni.
Pedunculi albi, bracteis tribus instruct]', pilis
nigris emarginatis.
CALYX tetraphyllus: foliolis ovatis, albis, adpressis,
pilis nigris emarginatis.
COROLLA carapanulata, alba: oris laciniis

SPECIFIC CHARACTER.
HEATH, with crested tips, just within the blossom.
Flowers terminal. Empalement emarginatcd.
Blossom bell-shaped and white. Leaves
by threes. Stem upright, and bushy.

STEM shrubby, upright, a loot high. The
large and small branches are numerous, erect,
and spreading.
LEAVES by threes, three-sided, thick, rigid,
rolled baek, pointed ami smooth, flat on their
upper surface and channelled beneath; with
minutely fringed edges.
FLOWERS terminate the smaller branches,
mostly by threes. Footstalks white, and furnished
with three floral leaves emarginaled with
black hairs.
EMPALEMENT four-leaved. Leaflets are ovate,
white, pressed to the blossom, and emargiiiatcd
with black hairs.
Bi.ossovi bell-shaped and white: the segments
of the border are equal, and rolled back.
CHIVES. Eight hair-Uke threads. Tips crested,
andjust within the blossom.
POINTAL. Seed-bud turban-shaped, furrowed,
with honey-cups at the base. Shaft without.
Summit four-cornered.
