SPECIFIC CHARACTER.
HEATH, with tips two-horned at the base, and
within the blossom. Flowers terminal. Blossom
skittle-sliaped. Leaves by fours and fives.
Stem shrubby.
DESCRIPTION.
STEAI a fool or more high, erect, shrubby.
Branches crowded, in irregular whorls.
LEAVES by fours and fives, smooth, linear, obtuse,
and ascending.
FLOWERS terminate the branches iu crowded
umbels. Footstalks short.
EMPALEMENT. Cup of four leaves; leaflets
lance-shaped, channelled in the centre, and
pressed to the blossom.
BLOSSOM tubular, oblong, and rose-coloured :
border equal: segments half-round, and spreading.
CmtEs. Fight hair-like threads inserted into
the receptacle. Tips two-horned at the base,
and within the blossom.
