HEATH, with crested tips within the blossom:
blossoms globular, umbelled, and purple; tincup
is scaly, and o f a whitish colour; leaves by
fours.
D E S C R I P T I O N .
STEM shrubby, upright, a foot and a half high,
branching; branches thread-shaped and upright.
LEAVES by fours, smooth, blunl, furrowed beneath,
and -lightly sawed at the edges.
FLOWERS terminate the branches in umbels of
three to six in each umbel, nodding; the footstalks
arc purple, having three floral leave*.
EMPALEMENT four-leaved; leaflets scaly, eggshaped,
keeled, and o f a whitish colour.
BLOSSOM globular, and purple; the segments
are equal and spreading.

POINTAL. Seed-bud turban-shaped. Shaft
