Pileus somewhat fleshy, convex then plane, subiunbonate, scarcely two
inches wide, glabrous, clothed with blue gluten, falling off in fusco-livid
d ro jjs; gills emarginate, ra th e r distant, three lines broad, of a dark cinnamon
co lo u r; stem hollow, very soft, two to three inches long, th re e to four lines
thick, th e whole equally attenuated, covered with a thick blue gluten, naked
a t th e apex, and the gluten disaqrpearing with age; flesh soft, watery, hygro-
phanoiis. H a b ita t, mossy meadows and woods.—Fries.
Pileus extremely viscid, stria te n ear th e margin, subdeliquescent, rich
dark brown, with th e apex lig h te r ; stem white, loosely stuffed, substance
fib ro u s; gills dull chestnut brown, with a whitish ragged m a rg in ; spores
ru sty brown. Amongst dead leaves in th e Hop-garden Wood, St. Leonards,
20th August, 1850.

Pileus fleshy, but th in n e r when young, convexo, expanded, scarcely
umbonate, two inches wide, somewhat glabrous, silky towards th e margin,
b u t generally breaking away in minute scales, not hygro p h an o u s; veil
marginal, fibrous, fugacious, yellow-tawny: gills entirely adnate, connected
behind with one another, and with the stem by flood, ra th e r distant, fo.ur
lines broad, th en entire, yellow-tawny; stem solid, th re e to five inches long,
clavate-bulbous, equally a tten u a ted above, h a lf an inch th ick and m ore at the
base, very fibrous or striated, fine yellow without and within, soft and spongy
a t the base ; Jlesh yellowish w h ite ; odour none. H ab ita t, pine w oods.—Fries.
