PsATHYEELLA Stipite teuui, stricto, nudo, pallido ; pileo conico, striatulo ; lamellis
late adnatis, subdistantibus, cinereo-nigricantibus, acie obsolete roséis.
Pileus submembranaceoits, conical, slightly stria ted when moist, hygrophanous,
brownish at length often tinged with pink, h a lf an inch to an incli
broad ; gills broadly adnate, somewhat distant, ashy black, pale rose a t the
edge ; stem slender, straight, naked, pallid.—Berk.
Pileus mouse-brown with th e rim paler and diying whity brown ; gills
dark p u rp lish umher-brown ; stem hollow, pale buff, yellow towards th e
apex ; spores black.
Growing at th e foot of a decaying stake, Wandsworth, Oct. 31, 1851.

P sathyrella stipite fistuloso, laxo, fragili, albo, apice albo-pulverulento ; pileo
membranaceo, striatulo, hygropbano, sicco atomis nitentibus consperso;
lamellis adnatis, latis, ventricosis, subdistantibus.
Pileus membranaceous, campanulate, obtuse, h a lf an inch to an incli
wide, finely striated, livid, when dry covered with shining spots, pallid flesh-
coloured or sometimes r e d ; stem fistulöse, two inches long, nearly one line
thick, equal, rootless, lax, slightly bent, white and pulverulent a t th e a p e x ;
gills adnate, wide, ventricose, somewhat d istant, distinct, whitish b u t tu rn in g
ashy' black from th e black spores. H ab ita t, grassy places by way-sides,
sohta ry or gregarious.—Fries.
Pileus when young sprinkled with mica-like p a rtic le s; gills a t first
n early white th en flesh-colour, h u t appearing black from th e abundant
spores ; stem elastic and fibrous, clothed with white evanescent down, juicy
inside, obscurely hollow, soon shrivelled ; spores '0005" x 'OOOSS".
