Subcoriaceous, p u rp lish brown; pileus depressed, fibroso-lacerate ;
margin sometimes incised, sometimes divided into a few linear branches ;
hymenmm nearty even, smooth. Sometimes almost funnel-shaped. H ab ita t,
on th e ground in woods.—Fries.

E sq ., of King’s Lynn, and were gathered by him in a small wood on
Bingstead Downs, H u n s ta n to n , Norfolk.
