Amanita stipite farcto, demum cavo, fihrilloso ; pileo carnoso, firmo, baud
fragili, glabro, e convexo expanso ; lamellis albis, confertis, adnatis ; annulo
nullo ; volva adnata vel subobsoleta, alba, pubescente ; came alba, firma.
Pileus fleshy, very firm, not b rittle , smooth, somewhat moist, convex,
th en expanded, pale buff-yellow', huff b eneath th e cuticle, two and a h a lf
to three inches across, margin extending beyond the g ills ; gills white,
crowded, tru ly adnate ; stem stuffed, a t length hollow, pale huff, fibrillose,
two to four inches high ; ring none ; volva lax, adnate, or almost obsolete,
white, pubescent, remaining in woolly patch e s on th e pileus ; flesh white,
firm, almost rigid as in some R u ssula ; spores white, '0 0 0 4 " x -0003".
