H ebeloma velo proreus nullo ; stipite cylindrico, farcto, e flbris spiralibus contorto,
adpresse flbrilloso; pileo carnoso, obtuso, lævi, glabro; lamellis rotundatis,
iutegerrimis, immaculatis, aridis.
Pileus fleshy, convex th en flattened, obtuse, smooth, glabrous, when
damp somewhat viscid, when dry opaque, three inches wide, very th in a t tlie
margin ; gills rounded, with a small d ecurrent tooth, crowded, three lines
wide, not spotted, dry, not weeping, entire, cinnamon-coloured ; stem stuffed,
four inches long, four lines thick, equal, oylindrioal, twisted from spiral
tiireads, adpressed-fibrous, pallid, farinaceous a t th e ap ex ; veil none. In
pine-woods among the shed leaves.—Fries.
On the ground amongst moss and dead leaves in a wood ne a r Buekland,
Kent, 31st Oct. 1848. Gills crowded, dull salmon, speckled with darkish
brown.

H ebeloma stipite solido, albo-sericeo, fibvilloso ; cortina eximia ; pileo carnoso ;
lamellis emarginatis, subdistautibus, plorantilius.
Pileus compactly fleshy, convexo-qilane, obtuse, somewhat spreading,
two inches or more wide, even, glabrous, tawny or tu rn in g pallid, witii
involute pubescent margin ; gills beautifully emarginate, somewhat distant,
broadish, at first white th en of a dirty clay-colour, weeping in wet weather ;
stern solid, entirely fleshy-fibrous, stout, two to three inclies long, h a lf an
incli thick, suh-bulbous, often twisted, everywhere silky and fibrous, not
scaly-white, b u t varying with p a llid ; veil handsome, wliite. Of a dis-
: radish-like odour. H ab ita t, in woods.—Fries.
Pileus pale buff, with th e margin somewhat w av ed ; gills yellowish
umber ; flesh solid and w h itis li; spores brownisli yellow, '0004" x '0003".
Abundant in th e neighbourliood of London.
