An ornamental genus of plants, thrivmg well
in sandy loam and peat ; they reqiure very
little or no water when dormant, and are increased
by offsets from the bulbs. AVhen any
of the tender kinds are planted out in the
open border, they should be taken up m
autumn, and placed in a dry room free from
frost, and planted out again early in spring.
