F e e d s on the W illow and Canadian Poplar. T h e caterpillars all live in a web,
among th e leaves fpun together. One enclofed itfelf entirely May 25, and came
out Ju n e 8. Another which lp u n itfelf up October 25, did n o t appear till th e 8th o f
March following. T h e moth is rare in its perfect ilate, though found in Virginia
as well as in Georgia.
We find no difference between this and the European P i. amftomofis. Its food is nearly
the fame in both countries.
