the 14th o f April-. I t is a rare Ipecies.
The marking of this moth is very peculiar, and diftinguiflies it from all we have before
feen. Every nerve is accompanied on each fide by a dark line, or feems inlaid as it were into
a black ftripe. The name Echo may, by a little ftretch of fancy, be found to exprefs its thin
evanefcent appearance. It feems as if wafting to a fhade

The plant in this plate we have not been able to determine. It is neither of thofe above
named. It feems of the Laurel kind, but can be referred to no defcribed fpecies, and yet may
perhaps be fome well known fhrub that efcapes our recollection, as well as that of the moil
able botanifts who have feen the drawing.
