Kurz's species M. tristis (For. Flora Burma i. 47) appears to be a form of this
with larger leaves and flowers than usual. The only specimens of it extant are veiy
poor; and better material may show it to be, as Kurz thought, a distinct species.
Accoi-ding to M. Pierre, his Cambodian species M. mollis (Fl. Forest. Cocli.-Chine,
t. 40) is closely allied to M. Roxhurrihiana. The same author's species M. campanulata
(I.e. t. 41) is also allied to M. Roxburghiana aud to if. macroearpa.

prominent beneath, in old leaves foiTning wide inter-marginal arches ; length 4-5 to 7 in.,
