Uvaria ktifolia, Bhime, as described and figured by that author, has larger flowers
than the common Perak plant, and its carpels are globular, whereas those of the Perak
plant ai'e ovoid and apiculate. The plant figured by Blume does, however, occur there
but it is not common. The forms may be characterised thus : —
Vae. tgpiea. Flowers '7 in. long; fruit globular, not apiculate, 1 in, in diam.
Uvaria latifolia, Blume L e. t. 15. Perak, Java.
Vak. ovoidea. Flowers '5 in. long, fniit ovoid; slightly apiculate, often oblique,
as much as 2'25 in. long, veiy oblique and warted when young. M.
