A climber; young branches rusty-tomentose. Leaves membranous, oblong-lanceolate,
acute or shortly acuminate, tlie base slightly narrowed or rounded; upper surface
shining, glabrous except the pubosccut midrib; the lower slightly glaucous, sparsely
hoary-pubcscent, the midrib and haii-s thickly pubescent; main iiei-ves 15 to 18 pairs,
oblique, rather straight; length Ó-5 to 7*5 in., breadth 1-5 to 2 in.; pBtiole -35 in.,
pubescent. Flowers solitary; the pedicels only about -25 to -5 in. long with a large
oblou"- dcciduous median bmct, tomeatose. Sepals ovate-lanceolate, membranous,
adpressed rusty-pubescent veined, about -65 iu. long. Petals yellow, veiy unequal,
fiat- the outer thin, oblong-lanceolate, 1-75 to 2 in. long, about 3- to 5-nei-ved,

Of the plant collected by Heifer and Kurz in the Andamans, and which has been
referred to tliis species, I have seen no sufficiently good specimens to warrant me in
so referring it. They may belong to species closely allied to 0. glauca.

softly brown-tomentose, dark-coloured, and lenticellate when old. Leaves membranous,
obloncr-lanccolatc or oblong-elliptic, often slightly obovate, acute or shortly acuminate,
slightly narrowed to the sub-cordate, sometimes slightly oblique, base; upper surface
glabrous, minutely scaly, sometimes pubescent, tlic midilb and nerves always so; undersurface
paler, sub-glaucous, pubescent, the midrib tomentose; main nerves 12 to 14 pairs,
spreading, prominent beneath; secondaiy nerves obliquely transverse, prominent; length
4-0 to 7-5 in., breadth 1-4 to 3-5 in.; petiole -2 to -25 in., tomentose. Flowers very
lon<r and narrow, often curved, 1-75 to 2-5 in. long, solitary on slender extra-axillary
pecScels 3 or 4 in. long, which are pubescent and have a subulate brae, near the middle.
Sepals -25 in. long, spreading, ovate, acute, pubescent. Petals very unequal; the outer
fleshy very narrow, triquetrous, expanded and concave at the base, pubescent; the
inner less than one-fifth of the outer in length, lanceolate with caudate-acuminate apex,
o-labrous. Stamens numerous; ovaries 1-ovuled. Ripe earpels numerous, ovate-cyhndric,
Siortly apiculate, softly pubescent, -5 in. long and -¿5 in. in diam.; stalks -3 in. long,
pubescent. Seed solitary, pale. King in Jown. As. Soc. Bengal 61, pt. 2, 99.
A spccies readily distinguished in this genus by the extreme length and narrowness
of the outer petals. Evidently closely allied to 0. cunciformis, Miq. [Polualthia cuneifo,-mts,
Bl. Fl. Javas Anon. 75, t. 35, 36D, 37), which it resembles in that respect as also in
its filiform, elongated pedicels.

vs-oody creeper; young branches densely rusty-tomentose. Leaves coriaceous, oblong and
sub-acute or cuneiform-oblong, very blunt or even emarginate, always slightly nan-owed
