Tins plant is very imporfeotly known. The carpels associated with Maingay's
specimens do not ap'ee with Ms description of them (K. jSr. Ini. i. di), and they
are evidently those of some species of PolyMMa.

scurfily pubescent, -35 to in. long. Sepals somi-orbicular, with reflcxed sub-acute tips,
connate and forming a spreading, shallow cup, densely and minutely tomentose. Outer
petals ligulato, acute, tomentose like the sepals but with a glabrous patch at the base
inside. Inner polals like tho outer, but less acute and one-third shorter. Anthers about
12, sessile, short, about as broad as long; tho connectivo very broad, truncate at the'
apex. Ooarg solitary, broadly ovoid, tapering abruptly to the curved truncato stigma,
2-ovuled. Ripo oarpols sab-globose, sometimes' laterally comprossed, truncate (often
obliquely so), I'O to 2 in. in diam., smooth, glaucous. Seeds oblong, sub-compressed,
1 in. long.
