or a monograph on the British Crustacea with pedunculated
eyes.
Dr. Leach haring a desire to elucidate the British Crustaceas
(Crabs, Lobsters, &c.) seeing the necessity of a more perfect
knowledge of this interesting tribe, since some which are articles of
food in the country, are not known m London, &c, Mr. Sowerby
is glad to assist in his part so laudable an undertaking, not doubting
but that in such able hands it will be highly useful and instructive.
The- firs t number o f this w o rk is exp e cted to make its appearance
on the 1 s t o f D e c em b e r ; it w ill contain three co lou red plates
in 4 to . w ith a ccompanying descriptions, a t 5s. and m ay b e considered
as. a specimen o f the w o rk . T h e w h o le w ill b e completed
in about 1 7 N um b e rs , o f wh ich w e intend publishing one e v e ry
th re e months, o r oftener i f possible.
