As Mr. Sclater remarks (P .Z .S . 1860, p. 347), th ere can be no d oubt th a t Heme’s
T. margarethæ is th e same as Mr. Gray’s Tanysiptera isis. The name adopted is, therefore
the correct one to be employed for th is species.
A s lig h t discrepancy wiH be observed between tb e measurements given above, which
a re those o f a fine skin from Batchian, and those g iven b y H e rr Heine. The la tte r g en tle man
does n o t sta te th e locality o f h is type specimen, b u t his description aud measurements
agree with a specimen in my collection from Gilolo. Birds from th is la tte r island seem to
be appreciably lai*ger th an those from Batchian.
