Above lilac-rufous, tin g ed on tb e sides and back o f th e head, and on th e back with
shining v io le t; wing-feathers blackish, th e in n er web ru fo u s from the base, more conspicuous
on th e secondaries, which are almost entirely ru fo u s ; th ro a t and a patch o f feathers
on each side o f th e neck, wliite, tin g ed with lig h t o ran g e; a lo ra l spot (very faintly
developed), cheeks and the en tire under-surface b rig h t o r a n g e ; b ill and feet coral-red.
