Female. Similar to tbe male, b u t bas no white collar and bas a broad blue pectoral
band.
Young male. Precisely similar to tbe old female, b u t the pectoral band mixed blue
and white.
Hab. Batchian, Gilolo, Ternate {Bernstein, Wallace).
T be island o f Celebes bas been g iven as a hab itat of tbe present bird, but, I believe,
on no reliable a u th o r ity ; in the same Avay Professor Reichenbach bas stated it to be found
in Amboma and Tunor, while tbe Philadelphia ¡Museum, according to tbe late i l r . Cassin,
possesses a specimen from Ceram. I do n o t th in k any o f tbe above localities can be
depended upon, and I believe tbe range o f tbe present bfrd to be restricted to tbe three
islands mentioned above.
