Th e re is a divided opinion as to whether the p resent species
belongs to A sp id ium or Polypodium. Some authors think that
they have seen an indusium, and others have failed to trace
the slighest approach to one. In general appearance it bears
a striking resemblance to some species of A sp id ium s, and
therefore as striking a dissimilarity to the chief portion of the
genus Polypodium.
