pale green, with a profusion of dark reticulated veins, ending
before reaching the margin of the frond. Occasionally pinnatifid
fronds. Scarcely any stipes.
N e a r the base of the frond scales, most of which become
shed in mature fronds.
Rhizoma creeping.
This Pohjpodium is y e t a rare F e rn , and, I believe, has not
fructified in this country. I t is somewhat similar to th a t of
P . irioides.
A plan t of the p resent species I received from Alessrs. Booth,
of H am b u rg , under the name of Acrostichum alatum.
I t is to be p rocured of Alessrs. Booth and Sons, of H am b u rg ,
and of Air. R. Sim, of F o o t’s Cray.
