in form, coriaceous, rounded at the base, the lower pairs fre quently
proliferous at the base of the pinnæ. L a te ra l, adherent
to a stout, creeping rhizoma. Stipes d a rk coloured near the
base. H ab it somewhat erect. Veins pinnate and curved.
Sori linear, medial, arcuate, eventually confluent.
L ength of frond from thirty -six to sixty inches; length of
pinnæ from six to ten inches; colour a lively green.
