forest. Falls caused by a projected reef from the Ussi
Hills on right bank.
(River bisected by a series of fine forest-growing islands
in id-stream. The large town of Ikondu is situate on left
bank below confluence of creek with Livingstone. Banks
are populous comparatively. Numerous small creeks enter
. the great river from right and left bank.
(Lira river enters the Livingstone from the right bank; is
( 300 yards wide, and deep, both banks populous.
(A black-water river, 100 yards wide at the mouth, and deep,
{ with a two-knot current, which enters from the left bank
I, into the Livingstone.
(This river enters the Livingstone from the right bank, is
\ 500 yards wide at the confluence.

from the right bank; has several large islands in it. Be-
| tween Mburra and the Aruwimi affluents, the Livingstone
flows north-westerly. The main river begins to flow in
five or six broad branches, separated by as many series
of islands.
