ÌS.^jW. 2 miles N. E. of Kambadzi is the large village
I of Usuvi, residence of Angoyya-Kajumba.
ÌS. byE. Westerly of this place is the capital of Luampula,
king of Koki, a tributary of the emperor Mtesa. Waeena
herdsmen numerous along the Kyogia valley, up to
Nabagassi.
fS. J/iW. At base of Rukam Mount, which is a section
' of the Koki plateau, crossed two streams flowing S. E.
to the Kiwaré river and Alexandra Nile.
S.W. by S. Entered Koki, or Luampula’s country.
S.W. by S. Skirted the Koki pastoral plateau and crossed
the Kiwaré river. Game abundant. Kajaga is at
the base of an isolated mount, commanding an extensive
view of the valley of the Kiwaré.

j sweré about 2 miles W.
f Camped at S.W. extremity of lake, which is 2 miles long,
( 3/4 of a mile broad, fresh water.

'W.S.W. Ndongo consists of about a score of villages,
situated in the broad plain at the foot of the Koki plateau,
■ which now deflects westward.
2 miles from Ndongo crossed the Alexandra Nile, or Kagera
river, a powerful and deep stream, rising in S. W. Uhha,
and at the base of Ufumbiro Mountains. 2 miles from
the southern bank is Kitangule, an Arab depot.
iCrossed the valley of the Alexandra and camped at Kiyanja,
at the base of the northern wall of the Karagwe mountains.
Game abundant. Elephants, rhinoceros, giraffe,
buffalo, and many species of antelope.
jSurmounted the Karagwe mountains, and travelled along
[\ the ridge.
