the upper part. The efcutcheon is of a redifli
.brown. The nbdomeii, which is fet
with hairs is of a light clay colour, each anulus
having a broad edging of black which
is gloiTy. Down the upper part from the
efcutcheon to the anus is a tender black lift
or line. The legs are of a dirty black. This
dercnption was taken from a male, which
liath the larger eyes apart.

The larger eyes are of a fine red. The
frontlet and fillets are brown. I'he parts near
the mouth are cream colour. The thorax is
of a lightifli brown, having a number of
broken lines thereon of a deep black colour
and dull. The abdomen appears of a lio-h:
browniili afli colour, beautifully mottled and
clouded on the upper part with deep brown,
'i'he laing:. are clear and the tendons confpicuous,
particularly a ihort one in the middle
of the wing, which appears like a black fpeck.

anneau a un bord large qui eft luftré. Le
long de la partie fuperieure des l'ecuiTon
jufques a l'anus il y a une ligne tendre et
noire. Les pieds font noir fale. Cette defription
fut prife d'un maie qui a les grands
yeux diftants.
CONSPERSUS. jFz^. ir. -Longeiirfix lignes,
hts grands yeux font d'une belle couleur
rouge. Le petit front et les bandeaux bruns.
Les parties prés de la bouche couleur de
creme. Le corcelet brun clair avec un nombre
de lignes interrompues d'une couleur
noire chargée. L'abdomen eft cendre brunâtre
clair bellement marquete £t nuage fur la
partie fuperieure d'une couleur brune foncée.
Les ailei font claires ou tranfparentes et les
tendons font fort vifibles, particuliement un
au milieu de l'aile cjui eft court, et qui paroit
comme un petit point noir. Cette mouche
etoit une femelle, et les grands yeux font
partages par les bandeaux.
