T h e face and frontlet are of a dark blue,
and gloffy like blue'd fteel. The thorax is
of a darkiih olave colour, having a coppery

abdomen is of a fine red orange, the fecond
anulus f iom the anus having a broad edging
o f black, the third a very narrow line of
black along the verge, and a fmall triangular
fpot on each fide, on the edge or fide
o f the abdomen. The legs are o f an orange
colour. The wings tinged with brown in
the middle parts.

fcutidum eft noir, & lullré. "L'abdomen ell
d'un beau roi(ige orange. Le lecond anneau

une ligne noire très étroite le long de la verge,
& une petite tache triangulaire a chaque cotc
fur le bord de l'abdomen. Les jambes font
couleur d'orange. Les ailes teintes de brua
dans le milieu.

on the frontlet is a black fhining fquare fpot.
T h e thorax is of a dirty olave, and having
a languid glofs, on each fide is a line of a
brimftone colour. The fcutulum is of a fine
yellow, but dull. The abdomen is of a fine
orange, the firft annulus is black ; the other
three hath a broad edging of the fame colour,
but the edging on the laft, which is
next the anus, is fomething like a crown,

Lzface eft couleur de foufre : fur le fronteau
il y a une tache noire quarrée & luiiante.
L e corcelet eft couleur d'olive fale, & d'un
foible luftre, à chaque coté il y a une ligne
couleur de foufre. Le fcutulum eft d'un beau
jaune obfcur. \Jabdomen eft d'un bel orange.
Je premier anneau eft noir, les trois autres
ont une large bordure de la meme couleur,
mais la bordure du dernier qui eft proche
de l'anus reflemble un peu à une couronne.
L e s jambes font petites, & jaunes. Les ailes
claires.

il a une efpèce de ceinture jaune, au deflbus
de la quelle font deux taches jaunes Les
ailes font claires, & ont deux lignes obfcures
au bout de chacune. Les jambes font for:
petites, & couleur de paille. Les cuiffes de
dernier font epaiiTes, retrouiîées & moitié
noires.

T h e fio/e part is of a buff colour. The
frontlet daikifti and glofly. The larger eyes^
o f a deep copper brown. The thorax is of
an afti colour, and ot a fine polifti, having
four dark lines thereon. The fcutulum is
yellow, '[he abdomen is yellow, having
eif^ht bars of black croffing it, every other
on'e being thin or narrow. The legs very
fmall and delicate, and of a yellow colour.
T h e wings are very clear. They may be taken,
vifiting the flowers of the dandelion m
meadows, and many others of this leftion.
T h i s mufca is very fimilar to mufca Scitulus.
