brown. Tlie lateral flripes are of a yellow
green, and two very fmall fpots appear in
the front part of the lame colour. I^he
beads which lie between the legatures of the
wings on the back are yellow. The abdomen is
o f a fine mahoganybrown clouded with black.
A l l the larger fpots on it blue, the fmall triangular
fpots are yellow. The female is like
the male except, that all the fpots on the abdomen
are of a light yellow green. They
•were taken in copulation, and the abdomen
was found full of eggs. They fly on commons
by hedge fides in June.

Les grains fur le dos entre les ligaments des
ailes font jaunes. L'abdomen cil d'un beau
brun de mahogony, nuagé de noir, toutes
les plus grandes taches de defius font bleu, &
les petites triangulaires font jaunes. Elles
volent dans les ruelles, le long des hayes, en
juin. La femede eft comme le maie, excepté
les taches fur l'abdomen qui font d'un
vert clair. Elles furent prifes enfemble, &
l'abdomen étoit plein d'oeufs.

T h e nofe is green. The larger eyes are
light brown. The thorax and abdomen are
entirely of a beautiful green, very gloiTy and
brilliant. The wings are of a faint amber
colour, but of an orange colour near the ligaments,

the lateral fpots are light green. The
wings are of a light amber colour, but
itrongeft in colour on the feftor edges. The
abdomen is black, and all the fpots thereon are
yellow, thofe on the upper part are very
fmall, Thofe on the fides are very large,
and very fquare near the thorax, butdiminiih
in fize as they approach toward the tail. This
is a female, and taken in May near a wood.
