TH E nofe is of pale greeniih brown,
having two black ftreaks parallel to
each other, and the chaps beneath, which
are alfo black. The upper part of the larger
eyes are of a fine golden or copper colour.
The crown of the head is of a dark
clave. The thorax is of a very deep green,
having two Itripes of yellow on each fide.
The wings are a Httle tinged with a pale
greeniih brown, the feveral portions of the
abdomen are red as blood, and are divided
or feparated with a ring of black, and another
of yellow, and hath a fine fmall black
line down the upper part from the thorax to
the anus.
T h e male, ihewn at fig. 2. is like the female
in the head, thorax and wings, but the
abdomen is red. At the joint of each annulus
is a fine black ring, as if feparated with
the ftroke of a pen. Toward the end or

LE nez eft d'un pale brun verdatre, avec
deux raies noires paralles l'une a l'autre.

noires. La partie fupérieure des grands yeux
eft d'une belle couleur d'orée, où de cuivre.
L e deiTus de la tete, eft d'olive obfciir. Le
corcelet eil d'un vert très foncé, & a deux
raies jaunes à chaque coté. Les ailes font
un peu teintes d'un brun verdatre. Les différentes
parties de l'abdomen, font auiîi
rouge que du fang, & font divifées par un
anneau noir, & une autre jaune. Elle a une
jolie ligne noire, fine le long de la partie fupérieure
du corcelet à l'anus.
L e maie démontré à la fig. 2. reiTemble à
la femelle par la tete, le corcelet & les ailes
mais l'abdomen eft rouge. A chaque jointe
il y a un bel anneau noir, qui parolt féparé
comme par un tiret de plume. Proche du
