A Irce 15 to 30 feet high; all parts glabrous except the very apices of the branches,
t h e youngest leaf-buds, and the flowers. Leave, elliptic, or elliptic-oblong to oblong-oblanceolato,
mostly acuminate, faintly serrate in the upper three-fourths; the base entire" acute;

upper greenish; midrib and 6 to 8 pairs of erecto-patent main nerves rather prominent
below, the latter iutorarching far from the edge; length 5 to 7 in., breadth 1-8 to 2-5 in.

A bush; the young branches pale, minutely adpressed-pubescent towartla the apices as
are the leaf-buds. Lcaws thinly coriaceous, oblong-oblanceolate, shortly Bcuminate, obscurely
ere..ate-serrate to sub-entire; the baso attenuate, ontii-e; both surfaces glabrous, the
lower yellowish-green, pustulate when dry, the upper greenish; n,itlrib prominent
especially beneath; main nerves 10 t o 13 pairs, interarciiing -25 in. from the margin rather

only 3 styles, and the fruit is more globular than iu that species.
