Leaves thinly coriaceous, drying a pale greenish passing into brown, elliptic to ellipticoblong,

shining, the lower dull and pale, both miimtely reticulate; main nerves 7 to 8 pairs,

A shrub 3 to 8 feet high, the young branches minutely tomentose. Leaves subcoriaceous,

Ttis is not unlike J affine, Korth., but is distinguished from that spocies by its sericeous ovary
aud deeply warted fruit. In ita fruit this resembles X Palcnibamcum and 1'. euryncMim; but it diffeis
fi'om both in its much larger and moro numerously veined leaves.

Fruit globose, -(35 in. in diam. (young), deciduoualy tomentoso; pericarp thick, spongy, the
