There are two kinds of flowers ia tliis plant—{a) those with podieels as long as tlie flower; (6) those
with pedicels shorter than the flower. In t'le former the anthers are perfect, and tlio o^aiies produoe
seed. I'he flowers are tbus tnily hermaphrodite. In the la'ter the authors have no pollen, but the
ovaiies are fruitfal: tiigy are virtually unisesual. The species is nlliad to A. JVulUchinm, but differs
fi-OTO that species in its much more acuminate rougher leaves and also in its capsules and seeds.
