staniiiiodes. Ovary ruguloso, pubescent, globular, 1-celled. Stigmas 2, sub-biliti,
spreading. Fruit globular, crowned by the stigmas, rugose, pubescent, -5 to -75 in.

A slender tree; the branchlefs aud inflorescenca rusty, otherwise glabrous. Leaoea
large, thinly coriaceous, oblong-lanceolate or oblanoeolate, shortly and abruptly acumin

upper shining, the lower dull, pale; the midrib and 5 to 7 pairs of nerves very

and bent at the apex. Racemes in tufts from tubercles on the stem and largfi

Petals 4, ovate, acute; the gland large, rotund, sericeous. Female racemes shorter; sepals

Fruit angled when young: when ripe transversely oblong, the apex retuse, 1-5 in.,
