Sims 10-18 in., narrowed at the base, as tliicli as a goose^quill, green ; internodes
1-a- in., terete, lowest sheathed; nodes discoloured; branches elongate, with
short brown sheaths at the Tory slender base. Leava not seen, probably occurring
only in a very young state e{ the plant. Pedtmde i—J- in'., slender, with Tory short
•imbricating sheaths at the base, 2—4-fld. ; pedicel with ovary i in.; flowers J—J in.
long. Sepith subfaleate ; petals S-nerved, as long as the sepals, green ; lip nearly
twice as long as the sepals. Antiier conical.
A singular species, leaflwB in all the specimens I have seen, as wefl us in the drniviD^, though
probably taes ate to be toimd in tho young state oi tie plant; and are, as in it. nem aly
D. herb^cam, lindi, of the Deecan peninsula, very caducous. The lip, winch is desoribed as
ouneifotm and straight, and which appenrj to be so in di'ied spooimen, is here represented as
deflosed heyond the middle.

SPms tafted, narrowed at the base, stout and fusiform or elongate (8—10 in.)
and flexnous; naked below; intemodes i—IJ in., grooved Lmnes 2 - 4 in., pubescent
on both surfaces, sessile, nearly flat, keeled, coriaceous. Flowe's 11—2 in. long
from the tip of the dorsal sepal to that of the nientum, yellowish without, white within
except the yellow lip; peduncle J - J in., sheathed 1—2-fld., hidden amongst the uppermost
leaves. Laleml sepals subfaleate ; petals obovate, acuminate. Column with a
toothed 2-lobed tip. Anther with ciliate margins, 2-Iobed.

Stem branching from the base; branches prostrate, 6 -10 in. by 1—1 J- in. broad
across the leaves, quite flat. Lome, } in. long and broad, not striated, margins
thickened when dried, dark lurid green. FlovKrs shortly and stoutly pedicelled,
t h e pedicel about f in. long and broad, sunk m the brush-like tuft of filiform bracts,
d i r ty purplish and yellow green (pale citron tinged with claret, Wns)-, mentum
forming a rounded base to the flower; lip recurved, rather longer than the lateral
sepals. Anther 2-lobed on the crown.
Mr. Eidley, writing from Singaiiore, informs me that the flowers are exquisitely scented of
vauiUa. The specimen figined is inscribed "D. indivisum, Blmm. Singapore 10 (1861). T. Anderson^
Fid 20-3-62" I have pointed out in Iho Flora of British India that Blame's D. indimum, of which
i t e e is an autheulieany namod speehuen ia Herb. Lindl. (now at K.w), has much longer uol
thickened leaves, and a transverse lamina ou the lip, as in D. inlophoium.
