AUied to the last, but more slender in habit.—Stem about 2 inches long, distantly branched. Stem-leaves
small, not coucealing the stem. Branch-leaves distant, much bent inwards when dry, but not appressed. Seta I
inch. Vaginula hairy. Teeth yellow, longer than in H. furfurosum. Inner peristome reddish, with cilia.—A
larger species than E. sparsum, Hook. fil. et Wils. FI. N . Zeal. 109. t. 89. f. 5 ) ; leaves more acute, very concave,
