Silice tlie plate representing tliis species was prepared, we have discovered that the biril
has already been fignvcd in one o f the later livraisons o f Dii Bus’ “ Esquisses Ornithologiques’’,
o f which the text lias never appeared. We are not sure that these livraisons were ever tonnally
published, but, even if this should have been the case, they are so little known that a second
figure o f this beautiful species may not be deemed undesirable.
Our figure of the male o f this bird is taken from one o f M. Boucard’s specimens above
refen-ed to, that o f the female from one o f Mr. Salvin’s Guatemalan skins. Both o f them arc
in Mr. Sclater’s collection.
