b e a u t i f u l plants, well deserving of extensive cult
i v a t i o n . The flowers are not very much unlike
those of a single dahlia, to which the .i^enus bear s a
close resemblance; and the perennial species req
u i r e s exactly the same treatment, C. tenuifoliiis
b e i n g an annual , the seeds must therefore be sown
o n a hotbed early in spring, and planted out in the
flower-garden about the end of May ; but a few
p l a n t s should be kept in the greenhouse^ from
w h i c h the seeds should be gathered.
