p o s i t e s . The species of this genus are, for the
greater part , ornamental plants, growing from hal f
a foot to five feet high. T h e hardy annual and
biennial kinds need only to be sown in the open
g round; the half-hardy ones should be sown on a
mild hotbed, where they must remain till strong
