th e segment, below th e base of th e tooth, and at the axil of
a p a ir of veinlets.
Stipes six to e ig h t inches in len g th , slightly scaly below.
Rhizoma caudiciform, c reeping, stout, and clothed with
compact, b ro ad , imbrica ted scales.
L en g th of fro n d from twelve to twenty-four inches ; colour
pale g re en , and when y oung slighly p in k .
