A MOST remarkable and at th e same time handsome group
o f F e rn s, making (u n d e r successful cultivation) magnificent
plants. T h e most aristocratic-looking genus of F e rn s. T h e
fronds v arying from ten to seventy inches, and b e in g diohot-
omously branched.
Veins forked, e ith e r simply or p in n a te ly ; venules free , th e
ex te rio r one b e a rin g sporangia on its apex. Sori punctiform
and n ak ed , n o n-indusiate, superficial, or immersed, consisting of
b u t few spore-cases, wh ich are sessile an d deciduous.
