A n evergreen warm greenhouse species.

F ro n d s glabrous, b ip in n a te , and ovate-lanceolate in form, the
pinnules (which are only from two to four inches in len g th ,)
are linear-lanceolate in form, acuminate, and pro fo u n d ly p in natifid,
segments ovate-acute. Stipes and rachis muric ate, base
scaly.
Veins simple and forked,
Sori from one to four, situated on th e basal po rtio n of the
segment.
L e n g th of frond from ten to th irte e n feet; colour pale green,
somewhat glaucous b en e a th ; c audex arbore scent, th e stems rising
to th e h e ig h t of th irty feet, and being about th re e feet in
circumference ne a r the base.
