T h e fronds, w hich are b ip in n a te and somewhat poin ted in
form, and smooth, have linear-lanceolate pinnatifid p in n u le s;
pinnte about two feet in le n g th , approximate, and sub-opposite,
segments oblong-obtuse. P in n u le s an in ch an d a h a lf to two
inches in length.
Veins branched.
Costa paleaceous. Stipes an d rachis scaly and blackish,
densely aculeate at th e base.
Sori small an d globose.
T h e fronds risin g from a tre e -lik e crown.
L e n g th of fro n d from four to six fe e t; colour b rillia n t green.
