T h e fronds, which are g labrous, are b ip in n a te , b ro ad ly la n ceolate
in form, and are covered b en e a th at first, as well as the
rachis, with cobwebby tomentum. Pinme sessile, p ro fo u n d h '
pinnatifid, almost to th e b ase; segments appro x ima te , lanceolate,
acuminate, and somewhat falcate; apex crenate-serrate.
Rachis and stipes aculeate, hav in g a scale on each prickle.
Fronds terminal, and adherent to an ere c t arborescent caudex.
