H a b it e re c t and arborescent, th e tru n k or cau d ex reaching
in some species a h e ig h t of from forty to fifty feet, th e fronds
be in g from five to fifteen feet in length.
Veins fo rk ed ; venules free. Sori globose, ax illa ry at th e
forking of a vein, or medial. Re ceptacle elevated and columnar.
In d u sium globose, membranaceous, complete cup-shaped, and
a t first covering the whole sorus.
