Gleichenia—Named in honour o f Baron P . F . Von Gleichen, a German

A S O M EW H A T similar-looking elegant species to Gleichenia
hecistophylla, y e t smaller in size.

N a tiv e of Tasmania.
F ro n d s dichotomous d iv aricated; branches p in n a te , the pinna;
p in natifid; segments v ery small and orbicular, with a bro ad
re cu rv ed margin.
Branches nearly glabrous.
Eachis very hairy . Veins immersed an d indistinct.
Sori te rmina l, situated at th e apex of a v einlet, and consisting
of two spore-cases, p laced w ith in the hollow of th e segment,
punctiform and naked.
T h is species attains th e h e ig h t of from twelve to eighteen
inches.
