by government;» the police, and by individuals to guard their
habitations at night. In the northern pajts of Ilindostan, it is almost
iuajpossMe fort in, European in a private Ijijoy sectatity without
taking into his pay Chokeedars, sometimes even from a gang, of
robbers.
